Genavine’s life has never been easy. Not since she was sixteen and an apocalypse had turned her world upside-down. The army killed her parents and so many other people that the city became unrecognisable. Then, the government disappeared, and with them, the army, and, seemingly, any hope the survivors had left.
How could young Gena know that everything she thought was true was a lie?
In the years to come, Gena would learn too many secrets one person can bear and still sleep at night. She’d learn that the army didn’t kill her parents on the day of the apocalypse, but instead of happiness and relief, this knowledge would bring disappointment and sorrow. For everything Gena thought she knew about her family would turn out to be a nest of intricate deception.
“Genavine’s Mission” by Jupiter Rose is the third book in the Life of Genavine series. After reading book two, one might have thought that nothing worse than has already happened could befall Gena’s team. Indeed, being trapped in a frozen world seems like an ultimate predicament. But Gena and her people are to learn that there exist perils which are more deadly than frost. In the realm where they find themselves after setting out on a mission to rescue a friend, they face being unable to know what’s real and what’s not. And how can you win if you don’t know if what you see is true or an illusion?
The book is a whirlwind of paranormal clashes, where neither side seems equipped enough to win. It is impossible to predict the outcome. In the author’s trademark fashion, readers are kept guessing what’s going on and where the story is heading until the very end. And then, we are left craving more.
