The story behind the story: “The Accidental Cop” by Eve Koguce

Back in January, I had the honour of being featured on the Scribbler Blog, run by author Allan Hudson. It was a unique experience to be given a chance to share the story behind the story. Every single one of my books has a story behind it; neither is simply a combination of a plot and characters. They all mean something more to me than meets the eye.

Allan offered to share what hides behind my wish to write “The Accidental Cop”, the novel set in Latvia, at a time period barely known to the world outside the post-Soviet countries.

Having been totally engrossed in working on my new dark epic fantasy series, I haven’t noticed that two months have passed since the publication of that blog. I wanted so much to share my motivation and inspiration for writing “The Accidental Cop” and why the first post-Soviet decade was branded ‘the savage 90s’ in local popular culture. But as it often happens, life got in the way.

Well, it’s better late than never. So, please, head to the Scribbler Blog and read the story behind “The Accidental Cop”, as well as an excerpt from the book.
