What to read in May

Have you found the books to read in May? Here are some suggestions from me. Three different books tackling different themes.

I have read more than one book by Julette Caron and Susan Cochran, and I plan to read more of Sheila Fowler’s as well.

“Niagara Falling” by Sheila Fowler is a perfect combination of sweet romance and tear-jerker. The love story is beautiful, with just the right dose of serious issues, steam, and ‘I wish it happened to me’ moments. It is the kind of comfort read that will make the butterflies flutter in your stomach – in the most delicious way.

“Finding Home” by Juliette Caron tells a story that must be enjoyed with an open heart. Its characters make rushed decisions, hurt each other, and because of it suffer themselves. This book reminded me how difficult it is at times to be young when, on one hand, your whole life is ahead of you, while, on the other, you don’t necessarily know what to do with it.

“Reckless Trust” by Susan Cochran is a head-spinning journey through the world of the rich and famous. It ticks all the right boxes. Political intrigues that push people to do horrible things. Family secrets revealed after decades of staying buried under layers of lies. The shine and the beauty of the lifestyle of those who made it big in life.

I appreciate that alongside the glamorous picture of what life is for those in the upper echelons, the author tackles acute social issues, such as a crime level rising and the dangers it poses to the less privileged.
